The Safest and Cleanest Top Water & Happy Citizens. Daejeon city water is officially verified clean and safe water.
filtration plant
  • songchon filtration plant
  • Phase I construction was completed on July 31, 1980, and Phase II on September 30, 1987. Output capacity is 300,000 tons per day

  • wolpyung filtration plant
  • Phases I, II and II were completed on July 1, 1992, May 13, 1995, and July 24, 1998, respectively. Output capacity is 600,000 tons per day.

  • shintanjin filtration plant
  • The high-tech filtration system supplies clean and safe water to Daejeon citizens. The ¡°It's Water¡± Promotion Center helps in accurately understanding the importance of tap water. The 22,500§³ sports park on the upper side of the reservoir is for exercise and relaxation among residents. Output capacity is 300,000 tons per day.

  • High-Tech Filtration Facilities
    • Porous Block Type Filtration Device
      • The porous block type filtration device that features high-tech engineering ensures remarkable filtration and cleansing ability.
      • Intensive foaming, loss of filtration sand, and mud ball prevention improve water quality
      • The reduced time and volume in back wash reduces waste treatment load, and operating and administrative costs.
    • Turbidmeter by Filtration Basin
      • The turbidmeter is installed in each filtration basin, the final step in filtration. It maintains optimum operation status by identifying the features of the filtration basin, such as the period of back wash and back wash time.
    • Retaining Wall in the Reservoir
      • The training wall in the reservoir increases the time for disinfection. Accordingly, improved disinfection efficiency (CT value) enhances the water quality as pathogenic microorganisms, such as viruses and Giardia, are eliminated.
    • Activated Carbon Contact Facilities
      • The activated carbon contact facilities eliminate strange odors and tastes due to algae in the Daecheongho Lake.
      • Strange odors and tastes are eliminated through the injection of activated carbon powder.
    • High-Efficiency Dehydration Facilities
      • Cake treatment by dehydrating the sludge from the filtration process
      • The combination of the filter press type dehydrator and the vacuum drying method reduces cake water content to less than 40%
  • High-Tech Water Quality Analysis Devices
    • IC (Ion Chromatography)
      • Analysis Items: Qualitative and quantitative analysis, including F-, CI-, NO2-, NO3, PO4-, Br-, SO4
    • GC (Gas Chromatography)
      • Qualitative and quantitative analysis PCB for organic chemicals, organic phosphorous, chlorinated hydrocarbon, and halogen organic matters
    • AA (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer)
      • Quantitative analysis, including heavy metal analysis (Cr, Cr6+, Cu, Cd, Pb, arsenic, and mercury)
    • ICP MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer)
      • Qualitative and quantitative analysis, including heavy metal analysis (Pb, Cr6+)
